The downside is that not many ads available. Occasionally 2 to 4 ads per day. In fact in the beginning if you don't receive any ads, don't worry, it'll take sometime . For me it took a whole week before I start getting ads in mail.

These sites also offer paid to promote (PTP) links so if you have a blog or a website, publish those links and you get paid when those links are clicked.
